Jenah Arsenault worked as a civil engineering intern this summer in the North Conway, NH office.

Heb Software Engineer Internship

The entire HEB team has enjoyed working with the Northern native and we wish him the best of luck in his junior year of college as he returns to Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Introducing New Code2college Initiative: The Austin 400 • Code2college

We want to acknowledge his dedication to our team as he works on his last day in the office.

Jenah Arsenault was born and raised in Berlin, New Hampshire. He graduated from Berlin High School in 2019 and is entering his junior year at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. Ms. Arsenault’s education at the School of Engineering includes a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering in Project Management.

Jenah is the recipient of the 2019 H. Edmund Bergeron Technical Studies Scholarship, awarded by HEB Engineers, Inc. For a graduate of Gorham or Berlin High School enrolled in a four-year engineering program or two years of research at ABET. An accredited college or university.

History of HEB Engineers, Inc. (HEB) My internship with Civil Group in North Conway, New Hampshire was an eye-opening and very rewarding experience.

Fernstudium Bachelor Computer Science

As a current student studying civil engineering, the skills and knowledge I gained from this summer internship reinforced the lessons learned in the classroom and also added practical skills needed to be a successful engineer.

“Jenna was very thorough in her work and had great attention to detail.” – Eric Grenier, LH civil engineering major

Each day brought a new experience. Schematic design, drainage plans, roads, calculating possible costs or calculating minimum land requirements, there is always something new to learn.

I was also able to go to several places where HEB did projects, not only to better understand the projects in general, but also to know the construction process and the different tests that were done in the field.

Entreprenerd — Chapter 3: Internship

One of my favorite projects I worked on was delivered within the first few weeks at HEB.

I was given the opportunity to create a site design some ways to develop new business. Although it may seem cool to some, it was the perfect project for me to combine my interest in transportation engineering with my love of creative thinking. I was fascinated by the arrangement of the cars in the area and how the whole design of the area would affect the way of walking. I learned how to use the “Vehicle Tracking” add-on software in Civil 3D to navigate a car through a car wash with nothing in it.

I can’t wait for this project to be built and then look back and say “I helped with it”.

“Jenna is a hard worker and quick learner. She quickly became a productive member of HEB’s Civil team this summer.” – Joshua McAllister, LH Vice President // Senior Civil Engineer

Everyone I worked with was happy to help me and answer any questions I had. While in the crowd, I also spoke to the design, analysis and resources team.

The people at HEB made me feel welcome and like I was part of the team, even though I was the only intern.

I went into this internship not knowing what to expect and with more knowledge than I could have ever imagined.

I now have a better understanding of civil engineering and what I want to do in this field. I cannot thank HEB enough for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the company and I look forward to what opportunities this internship will bring in the future.

For the past 10 weeks, I have had the privilege of working as a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) intern as part of the Digital Messaging and SMS team at HE-B in San Antonio, Texas. During my time here, I learned a lot about what goes into the digital side of a large grocery company (it’s amazing money!) and what it means to be part of a dynamic, fast-paced company. Vision 2024: Why Become A Legacy? • Code2college

I’m sure we all know and love He-E-B, so I was really excited to be a part of the team behind the events we see in stores every day. It’s a different place than my previous internship, so it’s been a while learning and adjusting to the different processes that go into the POS side of HE-B. My team was focused on creating all the chatbots you see in HE-B and the different platforms of the partner companies, as well as the automated messages you get on your phone. Most of the work I’ve been able to do on a team like BSA has been business-oriented, not technical. This meant that I was doing research/gathering information, meeting with different departments and stakeholders, creating the necessary documents to deliver to engineers via Confluence, creating planning charts, creating background documents, etc. The problem is only BSA, But I appreciated the technology I was getting by sitting in different meetings and hearing the progress of the software engineering/development process. It allowed me to see all sides of the business, better in the area of messaging, and given Us a better understanding. of what software engineers do and how BSA can help the other side.

I also had the opportunity to work with Connor Acred on a summer internship program where we developed a chatbot called Omnibot that supports H-B’s pharmacy department and hospitality department. I was able to gather this information by talking to key stakeholders, creating a project document for our project and using Figma to create complex communication flows for all departments. I was able to provide all the information I gathered and developed to Connor, who then used it to code and implement the actual bot using various AWS platforms. It was really interesting to work on a project in this field and to be able to work closely with a software engineer to create an efficient and powerful chatbot. I even managed to create a demo video to go along with the presentation that showed off the different capabilities and features of our bot! During the last week of the internship, Connor and I had the opportunity to present our project to other students, managers and digital instructors, and it was a special experience for all of us.

Overall, my internship experience at HE-B was amazing. I learned something new every day, met some of the best people (you know who you are!), and made some great memories with my team (shout out to Austin Carpenter and Jr.!), and the students I had. . Privilege to meet here in ten weeks. My internship may be over, but I will always remember my time here and take everything I learned with me as I move on to new opportunities and experiences! What’s the job at Texas’ favorite grocery store like? We went behind the scenes with three H-E-B employees to see how they spend their days.

I am from Memphis, TN. I moved to Texas for college in 2009 and have had an HE-B since 2013.
