Police sent an undercover officer to collect evidence against a Las Vegas attorney accused of inappropriately touching and sexually harassing multiple employees, according to an arrest report.
An undercover investigator, posing as a client for advice on a divorce case, visited 67-year-old Douglas Crawford on May 25 at his law office at 500 South Seventh Street. During the encounter, Crawford made several sexual comments to her, attempted to touch her buttocks and attempted to kiss her on the lips, according to the Metropolitan Police Department’s arrest report.
Crawford was arrested the next day and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. Court records show prosecutors filed five felony charges against him.

According to the arrest report, police began investigating Crawford in April after the sheriff’s office received an email reporting Crawford’s sexual harassment. Many women “want to report sexual harassment but are scared and don’t know how,” the email said.
After speaking with four former employees and several witnesses, investigators discovered that Crawford had engaged in “inappropriate sexual behavior” with his employees.
Crawford is accused of exchanging his legal services for sex with clients, Chief Deputy District Attorney Jacob Villani said in court Tuesday.
According to Metro’s press release, after his arrest, police said “there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.”

“Crawford continued this behavior multiple times after the victims asked him to stop,” an officer wrote in the arrest report. “Your notifier believes this pattern of behavior continues and current/prospective employees may be affected.”
Several jurors recused themselves from Crawford’s case Tuesday morning, and Justice of the Peace Suzanne Baum agreed to a trial.

“I have known Mr. Crawford for many years,” Packham said. “I believe I can find neutral truth in this matter. I have not met Mr. Crawford. I never met him until he went to trial.”
Baucum set Crawford’s bail at $100,000 and brought him to court on July 19 for a preliminary hearing.
In 2009, the Nevada Supreme Court suspended Crawford’s law license for five years. He pleaded guilty in 2011 to two counts of aggravated burglary.
According to the arrest report, employees and witnesses told police that Crawford had sex with customers in his office, knowing that employees could view surveillance footage live from the room.

The video obtained by investigators allegedly shows Crawford engaging in sexual activity with a client in his office, but the incident “appears to end abruptly.” Several employees said when Crawford touched the client, he was waiting for a video call for a court hearing, and the meeting only ended when the judge called to hear his case.
Agents said Crawford would show other women nude photos or videos of themselves engaging in sexual activity.

When the woman left, Crawford hugged her and “began moving his hands toward (the woman’s) buttocks,” the report said. He then hugged the officer again and tried to kiss him on the lips.
